Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology (SSCP)
SSCP Clinical Psychology Awards
Stony Brook was awarded a prestigious Scientist Training Initiative Award for 2021 from the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology. This prestigious award, which is dedicated to the memory of Varda Shoham, a renowned champion of clinical science and a past President of SSCP, was created to support innovative efforts to advance the integration of science into clinical training programs at all levels. The winning Stony Brook proposal, Enhancing Education in Evidence Based Assessment of Adolescent Self-Harm, Suicidality and Emotion Regulation Disorders, was written by Stony Brook Dialectical Behavior Therapy program team members, Brittain Mahaffey, PhD; Jessica McCurdy, PhD; and Angela Turner-Dougherty, PhD.
