Areas of Clinical Care
Stony Brook University's Neurosciences Institute is comprised of multi-disciplinary teams of clinical and research professionals. It provides comprehensive neurological, neurosurgical and psychiatric care for a wide range of disorders affecting the brain, spine, nerves or muscle, and seeks to advance current standards of care though basic, translational and clinical research.
We seek to provide our patients with a compassionate, patient- and family-centered care, combining cost-effectiveness with excellent outcomes throughout the care continuum.
We are the only academic and Level 1 trauma center in New York's Suffolk County, home to 1.5 million people. Our Cerebrovascular and Stroke Center has been accredited by the Department of Health and The Joint Commission, and is recognized by the American Heart Association with a Gold Plus quality achievement award.
