Breaking the Stigma

Across Stony Brook Medicine's healthcare system, you'll find the care we provide addresses both the mental and physical aspects of one's condition. We call this our integrated behavioral healthcare approach. It means we understand that a person's mental health is equally as important as their physical health. And we understand how each can impact the other while also affecting those individuals in a person's support system.

Breaking the stigma that is attached to seeking out mental health for the diverse reasons that people do, is core to what we believe. We're on a continuous mission to help raise awareness and support the mental health needs of those in the communities we serve. Whether it's addiction-related, age-related, gender-related or any one of a multitude of other reasons, we're here for you.
