Many brain tumors are highly vascular (filled with blood vessels), making surgical remove difficult and dangerous. At Stony Brook Medicine, we perform a tumor embolization, a minimally invasive procedure that involves having a small, thin tube (catheter) guided by one of our experts into the feeding arteries of a tumor to either shut down the blood supply or deliver therapy directly to the tumor to destroy it.
