Navigation Mind-Body Clinical Research Center
Consortium Postdoctoral Fellowship Program
The SBU-CPP includes three member agencies:
- Leonard Krasner Psychological Center (KPC), an outpatient clinic associated with the Ph.D. program in clinical psychology (College of Arts and Sciences)
- Mind Body Clinical Research Center (MBCRC), an outpatient clinic in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health (Stony Brook Medicine)
- Stony Brook University Hospital (SBUH; Stony Brook Medicine), Long Island's premier academic medical center which serves as the region's only tertiary care center and Regional Trauma Center, among other medical specialties
The SBU-CPP trains and educates post-doctoral fellows to practice professional psychology competently based on a clinical scientist model. The training philosophy is informed by the Evidence Based Practice in Psychology (EBPP) approach, which encompasses the notion that best practice is grounded in the integration of the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of key patient characteristics (including culture, diversity, and preferences). A scientifically-minded approach informs every aspect of the SBU-CPP program.
The CPP offers several specialty tracks with immersive experiences. These tracks include adult behavioral medicine, adult cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), adult dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and neurodevelopmental disabilities, youth dialectical behavior therapy, substance misuse treatment, and adult trauma treatment and clinical research.
