Deborah Gerard is a special education teacher, a certified and licensed Behavior Analyst in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Services at Stony Brook School of Medicine. She obtained her MS at Adelphi University and BCBA at Stony Brook University. Upon starting at Stony Brook, she worked for The Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities as a school consultant providing on site behavioral consultation services to school districts elementary through high school. Upon joining the department of psychiatry, she continues to be embedded in a school district working providing consultation services. She works collaboratively with teachers, teacher assistants, counselors, related service providers, psychologists and administrators to support students with behavioral needs. She provides parent training to families struggling with managing challenging behaviors.
