Join us on Friday morning, October 19, 2018 at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University, for our annual Meeting of the Minds symposium. This year's topic is the Opioid Epidemic. Our keynote speaker is Bertha Madras, PhD, Director of the Laboratory of Addiction neurobiology at McLean Hospital and Professor of Psychobiology at Harvard Medical School. In public policy, Dr. Madras was Deputy Director for Demand Reduction in the white House Office of National Drug Control Policy, a presidential appointment confirmed unanimously by the US Sentate. In 2017, Dr. Madras was appointed as one of six members of the President's COmmission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis. Dr. Madras will be speaking about how science informs policy with regard to opioids and opioid use disorder.
Meeting of the Minds is free and open to physicians, other healthcare professionals, students and anyone interested in the opioid epidemic. Breakfast is provided and there will be a Q&A session after the presentations. We hope to see you there!
