2016 Meeting of the Minds

The 7th annual Meeting of the Minds symposium was held at the Charles B. Wang Center Theater at Stony Brook University on October 14, 2016 from 8 am to 1 pm on the topic of "Epilepsy". The keynote speaker was Jeffrey Noebels, MD, PhD, of Baylor College of Medicine who spoke on the role of genetics and alterations in brain circuitry on epilepsy. There were allso be five speakers from Stony Brook who presentied their research on the basic biology and translational potential of cannabinoids and neurosurgical techniques in the treatment of epilepsy, and the role of neurogenesis in the development of epilepsy. The event was free, open to the public, and breakfast was provided. It was well attended by about 200 people, most of whom stayed for the discussion and audience Q&A after the presentations, followed by a poster session. Please review the materials below for additional information.
